Well, as mentioned in the previous Round-Up, some changes are soon to come to WritersInk, nothing is certain as yet however.

For almost four years now the group has been going from strength to strength, and those of you who have been members since it's teeny tiny baby days will probably remember how it used to be :D - so small and humble lol.  Now we're one of the big(ish) groups on dA (dedicated to lit anyway), and a well intergrated part of the community.

As founder, I couldn't have asked more for a group that started off as simply a whim.  I never expected it to grow this large and be so active.  Since stepping in to the lit world (as an artist - non-professional!) I've learned a lot about the world of literature and the people who make up the community.  Every single one of you should be proud to call yourselves writers, even if you only dabble in lit as a hobby.  I've come to learn that the lit side of dA is a very tight-knit community with everyone seeking to help each other out whenever possible, never "expecting" the impossible from others, or throwing tantrums over stupid petty things.

You're great people, you really are, and are always eager and willing to discuss things.

I've met many brilliant writers and deviants, and along the course of this journey have been helped along by a fantastic team of admin, including these great people

:iconmonstroooo:, :iconbrokentales:, :iconpursuingthecerberus:, :iconinknalcohol:, :iconmagnius159:, :iconpomohippie7:, :iconthemoormaiden:, :iconforestmeetwildfire:, :iconschongslipper:

And many many more who have come and gone over the years, helping to shimmy your submissions along and putting the Round-ups together.

The time however has come where, like many of the original Senior Admin staff, I feel that I need to step back and let the group fall to someone new.  Dramatic speech in a nut-shell: I may be retiring :D (I say "may" because if no founder shows up...well I'll still be here)

So How Does This Effect You, Dear Members?

I'm hoping that it won't!  Though a private tear or two at such a heart-wrenching loss would not go amiss ahem ahem.
What I mean of course is, that I hope there is minimum disruption to the running of the group during the transition between founders.

What About The Round-up For This Week?

Have you noticed our recent poll?  That's a clue :D

For the next Round-up, and any that we have within this transition period, I would like to ask you, the members, to suggest features from the gallery submissions that week.
:bulletpink: Remember that it must be from the group submissions
:bulletpink: It must be from the current week
:bulletpink: Please include a short reason WHY you like the piece, this doesn't have to be an essay.
:bulletpink: Please NOTE the group with your suggestion
I realise this is running a lot like DLDs but until the new founder materialises...I no longer have the energy to hunt for features, so would greatly appreciate the help in maintaining this feature.

How Can You Help? Seeking a Founder

Well, since you ask, I am currently on the hunt for a competant founder to replace me!  I refuse to step down until I have found someone who is willing to accept the group and continue running it actively.

I realise that we have never had many competitions or raffles or whatever else other groups boast, however we have maintained an active presence within the community, and I would like the new founder to be someone who is willing to maintain that and not let the group vanish into dormancy.

If you think you could give the group a new lease on life and would like to embark on the journey of foundership, then please don't hesitate to send me a note (that's Sleyf if you're wondering).

Before stepping down as a regular member, I promise to upgrade the group's super-group status for this year, so I won't leave you high and dry.  I will also stay on for a while to "show you the ropes" as it were, but once I step down, whatever changes you choose to make will be completely up to you - I'd hate to be a back-seat driver.

The Admin Team, as always,  are also a valuable asset to any new founder, listen to them and remember to always run any changes past them for opinions first.  Remember that the members of the group are also a huge asset, and the Poll option is always available.

I shan't be bidding you all adieu just yet however :D (lucky you), so don't panic (or celebrate) just yet.  Prospective Founders, remember to please note, the rest of you - continue doing what you have always done: write write write.
