Every week, we collect and feature the outstanding submissions to our gallery. If you're looking for quality literature to read, start here!

Each item is hand-picked by our admins and presented with a small introduction (we think this makes browsing literature easier). We don't seek perfection: we just choose interesting work and share it for critique, appreciation and encouragement.

We hope all of our members have had a pleasant weekend! We at WritersInk are coming off four days of spending time in good company to delivery this Weekly Round-up, and there's a good spread once again this week ranging from Faustian pacts to tiny whales.
We'll be doing a little spring cleaning around the WritersInk HQ as well, so you may find a cleaner, brighter Round-up coming your way later in the month.

This Week's Highlight's!

The Deal Maker by EmmyIsAZebra

To see Theodore one last time, Vera is willing to give up everything, and that's where it all goes wrong.

The Faustian pact is a moment in literature that shows just how powerful a character's desires are, and this short story is a fine example. It's also notable for it's well written dialogue throughout.

TV Guide by WonderfulTyrant

A controversial poem that treads the line between sugar-coated and bitter, making it seem that much more honest and real.

In the words of the author, "If only human nature had an update button..."

Lukewarm Genetics by JuniperJuneFerngully

An eccentric poem that touches on the creation of Earth and its inhabitants.

I'm sure you'll see why this one stood out for us this week. The sounds that the words make are just as important as their meaning (definitely one to try reading aloud). For other similar poems be sure to check out JuniperJuneFerngully's gallery.

Searching For Air by Clockchat

A short story that's easy to relate to, about the attention we expect from others.

Clockchat delivers an emotional story as his narrator swims in a competition. It's got a steady pace to it, and pay close attention to the metaphors to really get the most out of this story.
