This Daily Deviation winner tells a wonderful story, tackling a difficult historical era with grace, dignity and authenticity. It delves into the atrocities commited in the concentration camp in an analysis of what drives an otherwise conscientious young man to do unspeakable things. But this morality tale isn't quite as simple as it first seems. DorianHarper has produced a well constructed and respectful piece which deserves all the praise it's receiving.
A poem about repetition, madness and (possibly) throwing children into the ocean.
One of the beauties of poetry is its many varied interpretations. This powerful piece plays with a number of themes - check the comment threads to read what how different folks have interpreted KlaxonLithology's work. While you're at it, why not leave a comment to let the author know your own thoughts?
A fall, a landing, a dying prayer and a dignified farewell.
In four paragraphs, this very short story covers several aspects of death that would naturally come to the mind of someone about to experience it: I can't breathe; does anyone truly love me?; will they miss me; etc. It's very good read for the length, containing a twist that will almost certainly encourage a second reading.
A not-love poem.
This is another poem which is wide open to interpretation. It's a simple piece of free poetry with themes of love, anticipation and (just maybe) abandonment.
